The next few weeks we look to inventors such as William Kakwumba from Malawi, who despite enormous hardship survived a famine, dropped out of school and then created a windmill based off a book he read in a library. We salute William for his unwavering optimism, hard work and ability to surmount incredible challenges such as leaving his home to study at boarding school and later in the United States. No matter how hard life was, William persisted, and he stands as a light for us all.

How many brilliant minds are out there waiting to be unleashed? How can we make the world a more just and beautiful place where every person can reach their potential?
