SHOT is pleased to announce the launch of a new open-access initiative, Technology's Stories: Past and Present (http://historyoftechnology.org/tech_stories). Technology's Stories is a digital magazine dedicated to exploring technology in history and in contemporary life.
Our inaugural issue "Policy, Activism, and Popular Culture: Putting Technology’s Stories to Work" offers articles by Sharon Irish, RIchard Hirsh, and Heather Prescott, each offering a fascinating example of historians crafting what Colin Divall calls a "usable past."
If you would like to contribute to Technology's Stories, please contact Erik Rau or Suzanne Moon at techstories@techculture.org. As a new initiative we are eager to hear your ideas and suggestions. We welcome a wide variety of approaches to telling technology's stories: essays, slideshows, interviews, video or other ideas you may have.
We would like especially to invite libraries, archives and museums to provide us with news, announcements, or multimedia presentations about pertinent exhibits and collections.
