Wa, my Mesh plans are foiled again. T_T

It turns out the friend I was waiting for is from Baltimore and has a huge personal stake in recent events. We finally made arrangements to meet, but I don't see how to fit my tower-building education in today.

Hi!

I do not think we really need something. Or probably we will figure what
we need when it will be too late. :-)

I more thought that if you have already a backpack of tools you are
taking with you to such opportunities, just take it with you.

The plan for the day is that we mostly put antennas on the roof.
Configuration and other things we will be probably doing some other
time. The roof is more tricky because we have to coordinate more.
Configuration can then be done as network managers in houses will have time.

Just to be clear, the BSC mesh network is reusing the same technologies
as many other mesh networks are, but it is not an open network in the
sense that everyone can connect to it. It is really mostly the idea just
to connect 20 houses of the cooperative together so that we can share
the same uplink connection. Maybe we could open the network to the
public at some later point, but that would probably require some
decision making process to happen at the level of the whole organization.

So in this way it differs from the amazing open network done in Oakland.

Of course, we could start spreading the open network around Berkeley as
well. But that would probably be best done with exactly the same stack
as Oakland uses (or probably it can even be the same network). Just
nodes in Berkeley.
