Just curious, but one of the Sudomesh folks looked at the openwrt collectd package and thought it would meet our purposes. I believe its written in c, provides push data from nodes, and supports custom plugins (one already exists for oslr but wed have to write our own for batman). I'm all for y'all writing more software we can just end up implementing, but we may end up needing to move forward with collectd now because we're currently operating really blindly and really need some info from our nodes.
