I asked about non-penetrating mounts and they mentioned that they have "tripods". I know that's not really what we were thinking about, but I think it'll be worth it for me to swing by tomorrow and take a look. I'll drive, so if anyone else is interested in swinging by, let me know. Probably around 2:30 or so...
On other notes:
- What are people's thoughts about new payment processing solutions? We've gotten some notices from gratipay that they've fixed their issues, but that we'll have to re-apply as a "team". We *could* roll our own stripe system, but in my experience using stripe to charge credit cards is easy, but properly managing recurring payments is not that easy. I personally would prefer to continue to allow a third-party to do that work. Does anyone know what sudoroom is doing?
- The
sudomesh.org server (and
peoplesopen.net and all the other stuff) is slowly being brought back to life. I believe that @
sudomesh.org (and @
peoplesopen.net) email addresses are currently down, so it might make sense for us to fix that first before we apply at gratipay again. I have purchased a digital ocean VPS, so the next step is to finish setting it up and then coordinate with marc on DNS settings.
- Node mounting this sunday? Of course, if we get the non-penetrating mount, we can set up a link between Will and the Omni. Even if we don't get the non-penetrating mount, there's plenty to be done. We need to run cable (not a simple feat to do correctly), configure a mesh node tp-link or mynet, configure extender node antennas, and create a link between them (we can just do it by holding up a radio on the omni side by hand). Who would be around to do some of this? Will is on this list, but I might get in touch with him off-list anyhow to see if he'll be around and would be interested.
