I think the ballroom's the only reasonable alternate location for accessibility. We might consider moving the meeting to a different day of the week since Thursdays are typically pretty jammed and often the ballroom is wanted Thursdays for other events. The construction that will be ongoing in the ballroom for a while may represent secondary issues for those with chemical sensitivities - caulking, paint (even low VOC), dust, insulation etc. It's a big room with adequate ventilation possible but the fans also make listening difficult. I would appreciate your input on how bad that impact may be Ryan.Another option is to hold delegate meetings offsite for a while such as at Place. May do us all good to get out of omni for some perspective and such, too, What about that?

I've been in and out due to serious health problems, but I'm hoping to be spending more time at the Omni soon. However, there's one thing that's really concerning to me...Since moving into an electric wheelchair for the most part, the delegate's meeting is rather inaccessible. I understand making the basement accessible would be a rather large feat and I don't expect it to be done overnight. However, considering the delegates meetings are such a Big Deal, I was wondering if we could move them to somewhere folks with wheelchairs can attend.But... Severe lack of space, Batman!I understand the the ballroom isn't always a viable option because having it reserved every Thursday night isn't opportune. The adjacent rooms are too small and also not always accessible. La Commune would end up with the meeting constantly being interrupted and the acoustics aren't great for a meeting.Using sudo/CCL might work (cc'ing sudo on this) but then it shuts down sudo/CCL's ability to have events at this time and means people have to stop hacking.Another option would be to try and kind of "live cast" the meeting somewhere else in the building that's accessible, but that brings up two concerns: weirdly removing disabled folks from the meeting itself into a kind of segregation, and privacy concerns surrounding recording. Now that the delegates meeting is only every other week, maybe it is feasible to have it in the ballroom, and then if we need the ballroom for something else try and find another space in the building that's wheelchair accessible before defaulting to the basement.(cc'ing commons working group as well, and consensus)
