Hey folx, we are coming up on the 10th anniversary of Occupy Wall
Street and so far no one that I am aware of has organized any
events for the Bay Area. Around the country other
people have begun to plan things, open mics and art shows,
vaccine clinics, free masks, Pussy Riot
is even supposed to show up in Los Angeles. As you can see from
the attached video cliplet, there are people who would really like
to see something happen in the Bay Area, as well. At this point
those of us who are mulling this over are leaning towards doing
something on Friday, September 17 rather than Occupy Oakland's
10th anniversary on October 10th.
Since I am a pro at crastinating, if it were up to me, we might
well have to wait until the heat
death of the universe before something gets organized but
I'm willing to throw gobs of food at an event if other people are
also interested in getting together for an open mic or speak out
or something & are willing to put some energy into making it
happen. I can also bring an EZ-up or three and a microphone and
speaker, and maybe a few chairs and tables if we can achieve
critical mass. I could even cobble together a flyer if we can
agree on something.
Anywho, if anyone would like to help put something together maybe that could join the biweekly rump of Occupy Oakland's GA (generally just a few people) Sunday, August 28th at 4 PM. I believe that will be here:

Sorry I missed today’s call. Were you there? Can you catch me up?
Susan, I asked Jay Ponti to send me a
link to today's Zoooom meeting. I uploaded it to a personal server
because I don't know if the link he sent me was for general
distribution:

If SF isn't organizing anything I think we should send them something, Susan.I’ve been thinking, and I think you and I should just set a time for a Friday night dinner and speakout/speakeasy at City Hall and invite everybody we can think of, making an informal list of all the projects that came out of Occupy. I’ve contacted Occupy the Farm and Strike Debt and of course the Public Bank. Should we invite SF? If I write to Ruthie, everybody will come, so I’ll ask for RSVPs and threaten them with running out of food if they don’t reply.
What else?
