Thanks for that link, that clears a bit up.  It took a while for all that dust to clear and honestly, I stopped getting in the middle of the drama and focused on improving myself and my friends behaviors (telling them that they shouldn't say things).  

I think more people should go to this event.  I do appreciate what the ada initiative does and we can all help them succeed.

Seems to me that it was the organizers of bsides who decided what they
wanted to do in this situation --- it was their call how to respond.
