If the computer works, and only the charging part is not happening... i would make sure the contacts are clean, using a dry toothbrush wouldn't hurt. The power connector has a magnet property, a staple or something like that could have gotten there; or simple some dirt.

I don't know how successful it would be, but if you took it to the apple store and told them it wasn't charging and conveniently left out the part where there was any water involved, you might have some luck....

One useful thing to know would be what year/model macbook it is. It makes a really big difference in terms of how easy it is to open it up and dig around.
