I <3 my female hacker friends and pals but the ADA initiative caused me to doubt their ideals  You should research what happened at BSides SF last year.  I <3 the ada initiative too.  I would really like to speak with Valerie about how that went down and why they did what they did.  In private of course, so I can decide if I want to support them or find a better way (like a group that teaches men that being feminine is not bad and should not be used as an insult or maybe one that just plain treats others with respect).

hi everyone,

ada initiative is hosting 2 upcoming workshops in SF on making the workplace more inclusive to women. seems like a great opportunity for anyone who might be interested in the mens' group and/or interested in cutting through what might seem like confusion regarding what exactly creates unwelcoming environments, how we can create them without seeming to be assholes ourselves, and how to destroy them. :)

Hi Conferences!

The Ada initiative (An initiative supporting women in open technology and culture) is running two “Allies” workshops in the SF Bay area which I thought I’d send onto this list in case of interest.
