I was able to track him go around the corner and run South down Broadway in front of the entrance. The time stamp indicates 1:46 AM, which I presume is a DST offset for 2:46 AM as the approximate actual time.

I have some screen grabs as well of the actual incident occurring about 20 seconds earlier in front of the door way at 22nd Street, which I can provide off-list as other individuals are also visible in that footage.

Details on the clothing from looking at a composite of images are red track pants, and a white sleeveless jacket with red sections near the top.

I tried saying "enhance" over and over again at my computer, however the resolution failed to magically resolve any facial details, and I don't think doing a multi-frame composition will do much better.

There may be some additional first hand details to add to the description, in particular height/age.

Make sure you're looking at camera 5, not camera 4.

I also talked to George again who said that calling back to follow up he found out that robbery investigations will only look at it on Monday. The person who was at the desk at the time answering the non-emergency (510) 777-3333 ext. 0 -- said he was not able to make out the face in the video.

He advised that whoever is down there call the police to have an officer come down to look at it; and to prepare at least 2 portable media copies.

George also said that he would be very willing to press charges along with the victims if they were interested in doing so and also to testify in court.

If some folks can please help identify and describe the man, the following is how to access the clip:

user: Guest
pass: MyGuest

Camera 5 is the one to zoom in on. Camera 4 is the one facing the street that was out.
(Camera 5 has the spot on view).

Click on the search tab and set the start time to 02:30am today 2013-06-01.

The outfit he's wearing is very identifiable, so acting fast to get this information right can highly increase the chance of his getting caught.

James and I got robbed at gunpoint, right outside the side entrance, at about 2:45AM on Saturday 01 June.   Nothing like thinking that you & a friend are about to die, to screw up an otherwise great night. 

No injuries, just terror.  The guy wanted our cellphones.  Lucky us, I don't have one and James had left his upstairs.  He got our wallets.  It could have been worse, he could have killed both of us.

OK, time for the kick-myself-in-the-arse maneuver, for not having gone inside the moment we saw an unknown guy walking down the street toward us late at night.  I should know better, hell I _do_ know better, but my safety-sense was down just long enough for the robber to get close enough to pull the gun, and the rest as they say, isn't history, just another statistic that got personal.

QUESTION: HOW DO WE GET THE SURVEILLANCE VIDEOS FROM OUR BUILDING AND THE ONE NEXTDOOR?
