Hello folks,

I just got a call from an old friend and he has a repair problem.
His partner works at a lab that runs a "superconducting magnetometer",
an instrument for measuring very weak magnetic fields, typically in
rock samples. It was build in the 1990's.

It stopped working and the guy who built it has died. It is a critical
piece of gear for this lab and their future is at risk if they can't
get it working.

So do you guys have any ideas on someone who might be interested in
looking at this machine and figuring it out? I imagine this would be a
paying gig.

Ben, I was thinking about that big machine that we had in one of the
exhibit halls that did some sort of plasma, or something demo. It was
full of electronics, and gas cylinders and other plumbing. Do you
remember who built that and if they are still around?

Adam, any thoughts on ex Exploratorium people?

Peter, any of the Fixit Folk?

Anyone else that might know someone?
