Please text (if you do that sorta thing--if not i can phonetalk), Kathleen (or whomever!), if you wanna get in touch with me!

Hey Amgo,

Don't feel badly at all! Everyone else graciously stepped down leaving three, wonderful Omni representatives.

There are no hard feelings!

Hello,
i just tracked this thread down. i feel uncomfortable taking a spot without a straw-drawing or something. i know i'm late to the game but where did all the interested parties go?

I just want to remind everyone that originally, no one from the Omni was invited to this *private* event.

We requested that we be allowed to send Omni members and the organizers agreed - there was disagreement amongst them as to how many people we could send.

Yes I agree with Sara.  It is a dilemma that will take some thinking through. I'll just read her book—too.

I will recind my spot.

It's a shame that most Omni members cannot attend, as we are both hosts and some of the people who I think really need to hear what she has to say.

I'll just read her book! :)

Hi everyone!

Thanks to Niki for letting us know what's happening.

I understand a limit has been set by the outside organizer as to full representation of OMNI delegates to this event.

I rescind my spot and leave to those remaining in the pool to make the decision as to how best to share this event with one another.

I also ask the same question that Marc Juul has asked.  Wonder too if there is a difference between organizing and sponsoring events within the OMNI collectives/community?  Either way it takes a certain amount of energy given by volunteers which is often in short supply.

Love to all!

Kathleen

Hello friends,

I walked one of the organizers for the Naomi Klein event through the space on Monday and she told me that they were trying to cap the number of attendees and ensure that the group represented a diverse range of voices from different communities.

As such, despite the information I was previously given by another organizer, she said that only 3 people max from the Omni can attend.

I'm very sorry - this was a miscommunication between parties on their end, not ours.

Right now, 10 Omni members have asked to attend. Are there people who are rescind their request for a spot? I think the only fair way to decide who can go may be to draw names.

Any thoughts?

Niki
