Patrick,

Wow! This is so cool.

I don't know if the class is being offered now. I was at a CIA (Conceptual Information Arts) party last night, so I will ask the professors, students.

I have set up a temporary placeholder for this idea/project/collaboration on the SudoRoom biohacking page.

peace love, and creativity my brotha!

Cool - do you know who is teaching it this year? I think Philip Ross (the mushroom art guy) has thought this class once before, but it doesn't seem like a very regularly scheduled class.

I've been tinkering a little with bio art at BioCurious and I wouldn't mind doing more of that at sudoroom. We've been discussing doing some events/classes/seminars with East Bay DIYbio, and this could fit right in there as well.

Actually, at the moment I'm trying to come up with some fun hands-on experiments we can do at the BioCurious booth at Maker Faire, preferably with all edible materials: agar-agar, red cabbage juice, bakers yeast, live yoghurt etc. Doing the experiments to figure out the best combinations would not be very artsy, but it's definitely something that can easily be done at sudoroom.

I saw that they have a course in Art & Biology. This is so interesting. Have any of the sudoshroomers done any art & biology projects? The possibilities are endless!!!! <3

A lot of people are in the Experimental Sound meetup that meets at the end of the month. I hung out ato ne of their parties last night . Would be cool to get some biohacking art going on in the SudoRoom!

Art & Biology
Whether the cycles of life act as an inspiration or are actually incorporated into your art-making process, the study of biology can be a hotbed of novel visions.  In this course we will attempt to reinvent the concepts and practices of biology in an artistic context.  Possibilities may include: playing with microbes and microscopes, studying embryonic development, visiting laboratories and discussing recent advances in molecular biology.  Living art projects will be encouraged.
