Note that Home Depot does have 8ft LED replacement bulbs. They're $45 - still a bit too expensive, but they should pay for themselves within a year or two.

We have one in CCL, I think above the fermentation station. We're planning to buy more of those as the fluorescents wear out, at least until such time as we decide to swap out the light fixtures altogether...

of course we should migrate to another type of light in the future, but i think
we should use up all the fluorescent lights before we do that.
