Upcoming Classes

Spokesperson Training - starts March 16th  - New session added by popular demand - so register now!

This class will cover the basics of framing an issue and developing talking points, give you lots of practice in role playing friendly and not-so-friendly interview scenarios, discuss the art of the soundbite, cover the basics of public speaking, and put you through the necessary friendly fire of evaluating your own on-air performance.

Putting Together The Social Media Puzzle - starts March 11th

The Internet and digital media are bringing organizations to life in unique ways. From sharing stories about your work or engaging your stakeholders in campaigns to enhance your work: digital media brings people closer while erasing boundaries of time and geography. Review the tools that engage people and generate successful online outreach.

Self-Editing for Professional Freelancers - starts April 16th

Ever wonder what it takes to get ahead in today's super-competitive freelance writing market? Nowadays, editors are more likely to assign top-paying stories to writers who can hand in perfect copy — polished, complete, to spec and on time. But easier said than done, even for seasoned writers. Editors don’t want to clean up your style, fix typos, do all your fact-checking, or hear deadline excuses. If you do journalism for professional editors who use Associated Press style, taking this course will make you a better freelancer because you will make their lives easier. If you are an editor, PR professional or beginning journalist, you will also learn valuable tips you're not likely to pick up on the job. Discounted tution for members of the SF Public Press.

Thank you for your support, past present and future.

Towards peace and justice,

Tracy
