I will bring in some medium sized cardboard boxes to help pre-sort outgoing stuff. Many of the circuit boards in the e-waste pile appear to have been picked over for useful parts, but there are probably some that could be diverted for re-use if possible, maybe at other hackerspaces or ??? Someone posted pictures as things were pulled out last time - i think this is an excellent move and gives people an opportunity to speak up for their almost-finished cold fusion project and save it from being scrapped for the windings. Sounds like Marc is looking into securing a truck and I will bring an SUV, probably a few bike trailers on hand too, so we should be able to deliver outgoing materials to a plurality of locations.
Do we want to have some sort of online register of what people want to have around at the space, or are we leaving it more to people who are there to do the reorganizing themselves? What do we already have enough of and want to send elsewhere eg desktop computer parts, fabric scaps, laptop screens, etc. How should we rearrange our shelving and inventory? Can we disperse relatively inactive projects to their creators for interim storage? Who wants to / has the bandwidth to take over those inactive projects and how do we get the word out to people interested in carrying them on?
Also relevant to reboot and an ongoing concern of mine - the shop area. Is it big enough to be useful as a shop? How does it compare to other hackerspaces? Does it need to be co-located with the main space or does it make sense to have it offsite? If we added a satellite workshop somewhere else, would the space be more usable for other purposes and make moving everything less of a priority?
I know these are alot of questions but I love to dredge up old questions for continued hivemind iteration.
Finally, beer - I have contacted the local brewer that supplied the pale ale for the pre-move-in fundraiser at Techliminal and am waiting on a quote for 7.5 gallons of workpartyfuel. I think it was $40 last time. Not saying it's the only beverage we should have on hand, just that statistically speaking it seems to improve turnout for manual labor events - causal relationship open to interpretation.
cheers,
hol

That's amazing! Oakland Wiki has a page about recycling in the area and
we can use that to direct the bins of materials we're sending out. If
anybody knows of any other options, it would be nice if you could add
them. There's a St. Vincent de Paul a few blocks away and that will
probably be the best option, but they probably won't take everything
(wires and components).
Here's the page: http://oaklandwiki.org/E-Waste_Recycling
