Why did LineageOS stop supporting it?
Not sure if they ever did support it officially, but they tend to drop official support if there isn't any currently active maintainer being responsive to bugs for one of the newer versions of LineageOS. They even dropped support for Galaxy S7 for a while until a new maintainer stepped up.
