I have lots of equipment for recording/streaming: analog mixer (4 XLR inputs at mic or line level, XLR and 1/8" stereo outputs), zoom h4 audio recorder + usb ADC, minidv video camera w/ firewire, tripods. would be nice to have some wireless mics on hand for high-quality audio recording of talks.

Cool.  Well for what it's worth, it's almost disappointingly simple to make video and audio streaming happen. I used to take care of the Five Minutes of Fame video stream.  It's the post production (digital tape processing and editing) that is tedious and labor intensive.

Re video streaming stuff, I'd be interested in a loose workshop on that kind of thing... maybe combined with sudo radio to help build momentum...maybe into some sort of A/V club??

I'm planning on going to this, I also just ping'd them if they'd like some help recording the event, if anyone has direct contact info for the organizers please pass it along given the timing.

Also I'm looking for a small group of people to help me build a production team to record other events in the bay area, and I've started doing as much with 5mof https://www.noisebridge.net/wiki/Five_Minutes_of_Fame_2013_02_21

I have a pretty good stable of gear for shooting/editing, especially looking for others for live audio mixing / recording, do camera ops and post production / publishing.

Greetings,

Tomorrow will be this month's installment of Nerd Nite East Bay.  The
Nerd Nite franchise puts on good shows and is generally a safe bet for
supernerdiness combined with alcohol, or either one of those by
themselves depending on personal preference.

The SF Nerd Nite almost always sells out, but the East Bay version is
only just getting started.  I went to last month's episode, and it was
Good.

However, I think THIS month is going to be Great.  They'll have
Jessica Richman from uBiome, one of the guys on the Curiosity (Mars
rover) team, and something about fabrication (not my bag but I'm sure
it'll be fun anyway):

And it occurs to me that much of this will come as no news to some of
you.  (In remotely related news, this message constitutes my first
email to the sudo-discuss list.)

Anyway, there's a small chance I will not make it due to utter
exhaustion from overcommitting myself (as usual), but if I know some
of y'all will be there, I'll plan my stimulant intake accordingly.

Cheers,
Naomi
