I appreciate the information about your observations.
I have a cleanup and prep scheduled for this evening reworking the fermentation station .
There should not be any rotting fruit covering the wooden table unless someone has covered it with such since yesterday or you are misperceiving. There is ripe but not rotting fruit in rat protected covered metal containers on the wooden shelf.
Next to the wooden shelf there are rat traps that haven't been set yet. When you notice a problem in the lab or the many places in the Omni building where the vermin are having fights, orgies, or are otherwise undisrupted in their unacceptable activities, you and everyone could take corrective action.
Perhaps a committee of vermin control is in order.

this is a seperate problem from the fact that at least one of the containers is smelling really bad, and at least one is breeding fruit flies.
