I don't know how it works in the US, but in Montreal we had one of our members with an advanced license register the hackerspace as a ham club.

We have a little trouble with roof access, but we try to run regular AARL reiew sessions to help people get their basic licenses at least.

over a dozen high-power VHF radio transcievers from police cars and fire trucks, and some from relay towers (those are 2.1GHz)

all powered by 12VDC and transmitting up to 150 or more watts, on various bands, mostly around 150MHz i think. Several types, mostly motorola brand.

I don't have the wiring harnesses, expecting you would just use them as RF amplifiers since SDR transceivers are so cheap these days.

Ideally you will take them all. Please write with questions.
