I haven't been to defcon in years... But it's shocking and also heartening -- Dark Tangent gets a lot of money and access with his deals with the feds, as do a lot of the infosec people there.  To publicly come out like this is a pretty big deal, even though the whole thing is pretty much unenforceable.
