Speaking as one who did not attend Saturday's event, but heard plenty about it from fellow sudoers:
- Oakland Nights Live hosted a purported 'mayoral debate'
- Said 'mayoral debate' featured each candidate introducing himself individually, including entrance music, canned speeches and commercials.
- Each candidate was treated to pandering questions by the hosts, who were seated on stage alongside the candidates.
- Each candidate took between 1-4 audience questions (for an event hosting well over 100 guests).

This format is entirely antithetical to the radical ethos of sudo and the omni, and offended many who are much more dedicated to challenging dominant systems of power than catering to them. I am angry that such an event was many a newbie's first intro to the space.

I'm Jenny Ryan, and I support this proposal :P

It seems like section 7 could use some additional detail. I for one
don't know what "Saturday's 9/6 ONL event" was, or why it would be
offensive.

Thanks.
