Yeah, it probably is whats going on, but we wont know for sure until we replace our Zyxel with their Tace and their tech comes out.

We have to look at our finances but considering the importance of internet to Sudo and the building, I think we should get another uplink, via coax cable probably, since wireless broadband may not work due to the condo on the NE caty-corner.

We can then config i.e. two openbsd boxes running pf for CARP (active-active) to have both lines in use at once, and also provide failover for eachother. Not sure if pfSense yet accommodates active-active CARP (i think its still just active/passive? anyone know?), but that would be ideal imo.

Who is up for that hack?

When we had sonic we were paying for 20 down but only got 12 because of distance to the CO. This may be what's going on here. Hopefully not!

Great.

BTW, I just got the sonic.net bill and the total price was $0, they credited us the set-up fees and first month, since there was this SNAFU setting it up. Pretty good price.

Yep, we should still have the sonic tech come out on 7/20, and call their tech suppt. When i tested it at the MPOE after we got the router & set it up, we were at 20/1.5; i think we ordered / are paying for 100/20? Its posdible its a limitation of our router (Zyxel)  -its not the one sonic is giving us (Tace) - we should look up Zyxel specs and ses what the max thruput is the Zyxel can handle.

Thanks to whomever was there forAT&T when they came!

In the morning at&t was at the omni, they were chopping the tree across
the street and preparing the phone line for sonic. They eventually
installed two panels with lines going to the landlord and us. The line
to us was marked as *sonic cir 319* and *sonic cir 320*, but nothing was
setup.

Then we wired it and... we have internet!
