Description: Join the Bay Area Permaculture Guild for our Midsummer Gathering! This month's event features a potluck dinner followed by a guest talk on integrating permaculture perspectives into digital systems, and touches on the work towards a decentralized web, presented by noms (Naomi Joy Smith).
Overview from noms: How can permaculture design connect with our socio-digital patterns, and what does mission-aligned tooling look like from the perspectives of earth care, people care, and fair share?
noms is a Pākeha from Aotearoa, currently involved in designing local-based projects including community-owned data farms and pop-up digital hygiene sessions. They currently support the DWeb Camp event team and contribute to Socialroots.io, a cooperative building network coordination tools.
This gathering is a warm invitation to anyone interested in these topics, whether you're a newbie or seasoned permaculturist. Come to connect, share, and take some full exhales.
What to Bring: Yourself, your friends, potluck items if you can, and your reflections on the question: What can tech learn from permaculture design, and how can we integrate tech into our permaculture designs?.
