All:
You're invited to the second monthly Bay Area WikiSalon, this Wednesday
evening at 6pm at the Wikimedia Foundation (downtown SF). It's an
opportunity to talk wiki, in all senses...Wikipedia, local wikis, Sudo
wiki; social, technical, etc. Sometimes we have a formal presentation, but
not this month. There might be discussion of pending California legislation
to apply copyright to works of the state government, about various tecnical
and social projects in the Wikipedia world, etc.
All info (and link to *mandatory* registration form) here:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Bay_Area_WikiSalon,_May_2016
(Sorry, building security requires advance registration.)
Hope you can make it!
-Pete
p.s. Perhaps this is something we'd like to do at the Omni for one or more
future dates. If anybody's interested in that, let me know!

Thanks so much for this support, Charley!
And mucho gratitude to everyone who's kicked in these past couple of days
to help sudo and omni reach June rent and pay up on membership dues! As a
reminder, any invoice can be partially paid and such donations will also be
calculated in your membership and access standing :)
This invoice has now been paid in full.
Cheers,
Jenny

a 16 channel snake has been installed along the rafters going to the
library mezz area so we can now operate the mixer from up there.
we recently received another 16 channel snake (thank you Seb & David) so we
can still operate the mixer any where on the floor too.
a dmx line was also installed along the rafters to the mezz which is used
to control the various light bars over the stage for stage lighting
(finally online, apologies for the delay).
the baps projector has been installed in the rafters pointing at the stage
for video on the stage. this one, actually, took the longest as splicing in
ethernet cable to lengthen vga cable is a pain in the arse (jake said i
couldn't do it :))
for now, i will leave my wireless keyboard/touchpad in the a/v room so you
don't have to be in the crow's nest to operate the video player/computer.
please let me know if you have any questions

technically i should mention that the vinyl cutter may have a teensy
problem related to its brain being out of whack. I have never messed with
it but others have fooled with it and Miloh could probably tell us more.
Worst case we order a replacement brain board from the manufacturer, or
design our own from scratch (it's just two stepper motors I believe)
the vinyl cutter came with two stands - the brand new one in the box which
is grey metal is actually for a slightly different vinyl cutter. The
black stand is for our cutter, but we might mix it with parts from the
grey one to make it better, or on wheels. We have a piece of red vinyl to
start with and we can get more vinyl once it's working.
as for the Xerox Phaser 8650, it will be great for making circuitboards
with this pyralux material. But first we will need to get the printer to
print something other than a test page! :)
also, we should find a place for it to live where we can leave it on,
since it spends a lot of ink starting and stopping.

i'll do a sudoroom logo test then let's get lots of pyra*lux*

the printers likely have a line of bad pixels down the middle of the page,
but for circuits we can just use a good part of the print area.
i already have plenty of pyralux!

Paid $880 of this from sudo's account. That was all we had in the bank. We
need to throw a fundraising party and write grants!
Anyone can post a payment on this invoice, even $10 would be appreciated.

It turns out someone owns the vinyl cutter and I will be returning it to
