Asking cops to patrol more won't do anything - they probably won't even do it, and even if they did it wouldn't make a bit of difference.   People will just take your things when the cops aren't looking.   Which is pretty much always, no matter how often they drive by.

I drive to Omni all the time and have never had my car broken into.  I also never leave anything of value in sight.
