Hi all,
SudoInfo just received this email about an upcoming November event.
Is anyone interested in attending this event?
I'm interested in popping in and at least seeing what it's about.
I would be willing to go as a Sudo ambassador (to at least make contact with the group/s who put this together) if no one else is interested/ free.

Hello Sudo Room,

We're students at the School of Information and we're putting on a Social Innovation Hackathon on November 21st. We're trying to get the word out in order to encourage students from all different backgrounds to participate. We would appreciate if you could circulate this within your organization.

Thanks,

Alec & Shom

Hack for a cause
We are happy to announce the 2nd annual Social Innovation Hackathon, presented by IMSA! This year we are partnering with Heifer International who will provide real-world challenge sets that support their mission: "To work with communities to end world hunger and poverty and to care for the Earth." Visit the event website here
Heifer International is a non-profit working to end world hunger and poverty through sustainable agriculture and community development programs. This Hackathon will draw on the range of talents of participants in order to help Heifer address some real-world challenges of their work.

The organizing committee is working closely with Heifer to curate a set of well-defined challenge statements to maximize information availability, and the impact that a 24-hour event can have. Participants will have access to subject-matter experts, real datasets, in addition to the basics: Wi-fi, meals, snacks, caffeine, and a dedicated nap room.
