Welcome to CityCampOak 2016!

Join hundreds of Oaklanders on February 6th  for a day of making our democracy stronger, our communities more connected and our local government better at the fourth annual CityCamp Oakland; hosted by OpenOakland, the City of Oakland and key community organizations.

If you’ve wanted to talk with other Oaklanders about issues of civic engagement, better technology in government, transparency, accessibility of government services, ways community can work together, business development or education- this is a great place for all of those conversations.  At CityCamp Oakland you get to pitch sessions you’re passionate about, lead them yourself or gather with like minded Oaklanders to connect and collaborate.

CityCamp is an unstructured conference where engaged Oaklanders like yourself combine forces with city officials, techies, software developers, civic leaders and journalists. We know many things can be improved in Oakland and we believe in the power of communities to bring about those changes - CityCamp Oakland is one way to connect our diverse communities with common goals.

This year our featured speakers are mayor-elect Libby Schaaf who has supported open data transparency efforts and civic innovation as a CouncilMember, along with Jose Corona, the City of Oakland’s Director of Equity and Strategic Partnerships, nationally recognized for his work leading Inner City Advisors (ICA) in overseeing a portfolio of local companies to create 3,000 new jobs, generating over $150 million in wealth for local residents and increasing the percentage of Oakland residents being hired by ICA companies to 73 percent over the past ten years. More speakers to be announced shortly.
