With all the work we've been doing on openwrt lately, this should honestly be fairly simple to walk through. I'm not sure about this week, but perhaps the weekend or maybe next Tuesday?Adrian is right, though, the router you probably want is the TP-Link WDR4300.I believe it should be capable of handling the vpn traffic at acceptable speeds. If not, I'm not 100% sure what the other piece of hardware you want is. Ideally it would be something like this:But that's obviously significantly more expensive than a raspberry pi. I do think the TP-Link routers should be acceptable for your purposes. I even have a handful, so we can test one of mine before you decide to order one (they're like $40-50).Should be fun!MaxOn Wed, Jun 17, 2015 at 12:26 AM, danarauz@gmail.com <danarauz@gmail.com> wrote:_______________________________________________I know the subject line is like.. woot!?? :)
But seriously... :) I am looking for someone to hold my hand and walk me through (help me with) a couple of small projects. Here is what I wish to accomplish:1- to get a router with OpenWRT (Not sure of its capabilities, but I like the idea to get ride of the corporate code, because potential backdoors)2- and if needed, a tiny computer that would be always connected to a VPN account, so that all home computers can use it as their gateway; IF the router cannot do this.What can I give in exchange?Well, I don't know what knowledge I can share when all of you seem to be way above my head.I don't know, maybe Photography? Spanish? :)Please let me know if interested, we can start right away. I am eager to start this.Many thanks,Daniel--- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -Help open a people-powered common space in Oakland, California!- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
