I started editing the section "Stay safe" (before/after comparison), which I thought gave a scrubbed and possibly outsider's perspective. It's still problematic and needs more "unofficial" resources--I just needed to update it stat! Please edit as you see fit!

I had edited the Wikivoyage article on Oakland when Wikivoyage first relaunched in January 2013. I'd be happy to answer any Wikivoyage questions for any OaklandWikians.
