Guys,I will dropping a laptop today around 6:PM it can be used the way you guys feel like it.Thanks
Sent from my iPhoneI haven't. :/ Maybe it would be better if it were a laptop that's somehow secured somewhere but can be put away, so it doesn't take up space when not being used by someone who needs it.On Wed, Jul 22, 2015 at 10:08 PM, danarauz@gmail.com <danarauz@gmail.com> wrote:Makes sense, Ryan. So, have you found a place where we should work on?Or/and, would you like me to see if I can set the computer you were using (or another) below the desk as I mentioned it to you, so that the display its a better eye level? On Mon, Jul 20, 2015 at 3:28 AM, Ryan <yandoryn@gmail.com> wrote:I don't think they should be near the entrance. If they are, they will get used instead of the ones upstairs... meaning folks who need an accessible computer won't be able to use it. Even if we put that they're reserved for people with disabilities, they'll get used first. I guarantee it.On Mon, Jul 13, 2015 at 9:31 PM, danarauz@gmail.com <danarauz@gmail.com> wrote:Thank you Jenny, but the credit goes to everyone who organically participated; from building the tables and onto the final result.Ryan, I think the ideal would be to have one or two workstations near the entrance; but if not possible, then Jenny's idea sounds the best, imho.
What do you think? On Mon, Jul 13, 2015 at 6:06 PM, Ryan <yandoryn@gmail.com> wrote:Good to know!Every time I've come by, it just seems like more and more have accumulated over time. Oh, no, there were 6 monitors over on these tables, not including the macs!
Made the space really unusable for hacking.

i agree that there should be ground-floor
accessible public terminals, but not in
sudoroom (any more than there already are)

Sitting where the Mac is in sudo,
I'm thinking these tables might be
awesome for more "public use" and
less "using the computers tied to
other devices." I'd leave a
bit of space, to make sure people
have room for crafty-type stuff
but there's tons of monitors
sitting here anyway... I'll bring
it up on Wednesday.

That sounds to me;

something ready, I would try to
leave early from work and meet you
then.

Yeah, I can try and do that
on Monday!
Weekends can be tough for me right
now because I'm only supposed to
leave the house 2-3 days a week a
la my physical therapist. But I'll
get in touch
after Monday and see what I can
find.

Anyhow, would you want to go ahead
and take care of finding the area
and of getting the okay from the
corresponding collective? Then we
can deal
with the rest of the deets:
tables, and materials, etc.
Thanks Ryan!

Accessibility. Good point

Would you like to work with me and
see if we can set up accessible
computers at the first floor?
Thanks, and let me know,

continuing to put them upstairs.

Hellos,
Good News!
We now have a total of 10 new data
drops at the second floor where
the computers for the public are.
Four computers are already setup
and ready to use. The other six
are already active, so it is
matter of bringing more
computers to the table and set
them up.
The second one from the left was
not booting up, and since I had a
bootable USB with Debian 8 with
me; well.. I installed
Debian on it. User name: user
Password: user Root's password:
user -Feel free to modify that if
one wish or if it
required. I just wanted to have it
running at least.
I removed all the extra
unnecessary and/or unsafe
equipment that was there on that
table.
Excuse me that it was brought down
to one of the tables at Sudo, but
I was too exhausted that I just
wanted to go home.
ALERTS:
DNS: At the time that I left the
building, 5pm, there were some DNS
issues. DNS was not resolving.
Pinging Google's DNS IP 8.8.8.8
worked, but not when trying the
domain name. The issue seemed
intermittent.
BANDWIDTH: Also, I ran a few speed
tests and they area about 20Mbps /
1.5Mbps.
Thanks Hassan, Sierk, and
Francisco for your help during
these three days of work.
