Elliot, what have you tried to do to solve this problem besides immediately inform the list and as for a ban? Have you tried to talk to Ranette? Have you talked to someone else about what you could do?

Gabby. Someone being verbally abusive calling me an idiot and telling me to shut up  (yelling at me with threatening posture) makes my feeling unsafe legitimate. I am not an "enforcer" I just voice my concerns and ask for help when someone is acting abusive. If you have problems with me please voice them. I understand that I have some personal problems but I do my best to be accountable and humble to my communities concerns. Feel free to voice things that you think are problematic about me and I will do my best to be accountable to oppressive behavior. I don't feels its oppressive to talk to your community about people or behaviors you find to be problematic. If you feel like that there is a better way to a address concerns let me know what your alternatives are.

Elliot, with all due respect, I feel strongly that you should step back from the role of acting as "enforcer" for the building. I wish that there was a better distinction between personal problems and community problems that require community intervention, and I wish, Elliot, that you would recognize that you have A LOT of personal problems with people everywhere you go and that the role of the collective is not to make sure that everyone wants to be your friend. I know that the purpose of this listserve is not to publicly shame eachother but I am sick of this affecting every project that you touch. Also I think using the language of "safety" in a situation like this (that is uncomfortable but not unsafe) is super- manipulative and will contribute towards people not taking serious words seriously anymore and its a real problem. Please find a way to share space and participate in community projects without appointing yourself as enforcer or making yourself a spokesperson for  groups that routinely disagree with you on your process and analysis. Please just be Elliot, and please find a way to deal. I am sorry if this hurts you or embarasses you. Know that I will have your back when it gets real. We can talk more in person if you like.

Maybe we should have a separate list for conflicts and mediation. Oh
wait, the Omni already has one:
https://omnicommons.org/lists/listinfo/mediation

Why are you even using sudo-discuss? None of these things even
happened in Sudoroom, they happened elsewhere in the building.
