also if you want to see the robot shake its maraca, start reading the manuals so you can program it! i am told that it's "easy" to program things like "waypoint one, waypoint two, repeat" and then set the speed...
and shaking the maraca (after it's wedged firmly into the "hand") would be a perfect Hello World!
getting the serial stuff to work is for uploading programs written elsewhere, or hopefully controlling the robot directly over the serial port.

We have lots of regular serial cables.
This is to hook the 3d-printing desktop computer up to the robot, so we can make it do more stuff. I am not sure a null-modem adaptor is needed, but it
doesn't seem to say anything at all without one so i'm guessing that's the problem. Normally a disk drive (which we have) plugs into this port on the robot, so to connect the robot to a computer would suggest DTE-DTE which wou
ld require a null-modem adaptor.
