Okay, thanks so much for explaining at length. This decision does seem
reasonable. I suppose we'd never get rid of wordpress entirely since
we already have a rich blog history, so it just makes sense to use its
other strengths too.

Cool

I still am apprehensive about other things creeping out of the wiki
and onto the wordpress, and information being duplicated in both
places. I hope we can stay vigilant about that.

I agree with you and would be happy to personally delete information from wordpress whenever it can be effectively posted on the wiki. That being said, the only information that should be on the wordpress and not necessarily the wiki is information that is good for users landing on sudoroom.org trying to get basic information.

The ideal to me was when we had the WPMW extension working, tying wordpress accounts and mediawiki accounts together: https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:WPMW I've been bummed ever since it stopped working mysteriously ;)

I apologize for what must come off as a series of terse negative
emails the past few days. I know this is a critical formative time for
Sudo and I hope to be more available to help in depth again sometime
soon.

No worries, thanks for keeping an eye on security and challenging some of the assumptions I'm making. I'm glad to have written it all out coherently, I've been sort of nose-deep in it.

Looking forward!
