Sudoroom's official meetings are the first Wednesday of the month, at 8PM. They are bureaucratic, sometimes fun, and usually more functional than rumored. We try to handle conflicts respectfully.

== Etherpad ==

We keep our agenda on an etherpad. The etherpad is projected on a big screen for everyone to see. Anyone who knows the URL can collaboratively edit it on their laptop. After the meeting, its contents are copied to our wiki - that's how we keep record. Then we clear it for the next meeting and people can add items throughout the week. Ideally someone posts a summary to the mailing list, but that doesn't always happen.

Unfortunately, in the past our etherpad has caught the attention of online troll dens who like to overwhelm it and make it unusable. For this reason, we don't post the address online. Sorry! '''These addresses''' had been used in the past, and '''are obsolete''':

This hack allows the use of a single CAT5 wire to carry both a full duplex 100Mpbs connection and two phone lines. This can be achieved by "
hot splicing" an existing connection; however since this particular hack was tested and developed at sudo room using the only available broadband link I figured I'd try extending it by creating a splicer/adapter that could simply be added in-line with an existing connection, without the risk of splicing a substantially long cable.

A relatively simple way to put one of these together is to start with a shorter CAT5 patch cable, and cut it in half. In this case using a cable with T568B wiring, meaning you'll have an orange pair on pins 1 & 2, and green on 3 & 6. These pins essentially become pass thru connections in the resulting connector. This now frees up the blue and brown pair of wires to be used for phone lines.

Combinging a keystone jack and a POTS wall jack with the CAT5 pigtail creates a configuration allowing for the connection of a RJ-45 cable and a 2-Line RJ-11 cable into a single CAT5 transmission line.

The last day of the Bay Area Public School / Sudo Room's weeklong Summer School program, Information Day kicks off with a 3-hour Cryptoparty starting at 12pm. We'll be showing people how to run Tor (anonymous browsing), set up private and public keys for authentication, use encrypted chat, and secure their phone calls. All skill levels welcome!

We'll conclude the evening with free drinks and dancing!

Sudo Room is located at 2141 Broadway St, two blocks from the 19th St Oakland BART. Curl left around the corner at 22nd - the entrance is on 22nd St. We'll be running from 12-6, so drop in anytime. Flier attached.

The last day of the Bay Area Public School / Sudo Room's weeklong Summer School program, Information Day kicks off with a 3-hour Cryptoparty starting at 12pm. We'll be showing people how to run Tor (anonymous browsing), set up private and public keys for authentication, use encrypted chat, and secure their phone calls. All skill levels welcome!

We'll conclude the evening with free drinks and dancing!

Sudo Room is located at 2141 Broadway St, two blocks from the 19th St Oakland BART. Curl left around the corner at 22nd - the entrance is on 22nd St. We'll be running from 12-6, so drop in anytime. Flier attached.

** Now we know the puter fires up and connects to the internets
