New page

If you are choosing a router to run on a PeoplesOpen.net mesh, there are a few things to keep in mind.

The first of these is that development was conducted on Ubiquity PicoStation 2HP devices, so if at all possible, obtain one of these to keep hardware discrepancies to a minimum.

If a PicoStation 2HP can not be obtained, having an adequate amount of flash storage space on the router is a large concern. Devices with less than 4MB of storage space can not run OpenWRT and therefore won't work with People's Open.net.

However, devices with less than 8mb of RAM require a SquashFS file system, and it is strongly recommended to use a router with 8mb of flash storage space.
