About Sudo Room
Sudo Room is a creative technology community for excellent, do-ocratic, consensus-based collaboration. Participating at Sudo Room can be simple: come and hack on something!
This can be your own project, or someone else project, or Sudo Room itself. Sudo Room is composed of many Groups of people who share interests and resources.
Vision
We believe that by creating welcoming facilities and open infrastructure we will engage a community of people interested in topics such as community organizing, health, music, programming, hardware hacking, physics, chemistry, mathematics, security, robotics, art, and beyond.
Through this community, one can collaborate and co-create opportunities aimed to improve our community and beyond.
Culture & Values
We strive to be a supportive open, transparent, horizontal and welcoming community, where everyone is free to learn, create, gather, collaborate, work, play and develop new interests!
We begin from a point of respect and trust and openness. We believe this builds a strong communal foundation which can foster collaboration and sustain future efforts aimed to improve social relationships and our collective social conditions. We have writings on community standards and an anti-harassment policy which covers all conduct in the physical space and in our online spaces.
Mission
Sudo Room’s mission is to:
- Provide accessible, clean work spaces and tools to enable individual or collaborative projects or experimentation related to art, science, and technology
- Facilitate education and idea-sharing by providing and maintaining a space for our members and guests to give talks, host workshops and classes, and to meet and socialize
And most importantly, to foster a community with shared culture and values that leverages these basic building blocks to achieve our vision: expand innovation and creativity in our community and beyond.
