about meAn incorrigibly nomadic cyberanthropologist gone gonzo, I recently dropped out of graduate school to more fully tune in to emerging movements rooted in the shared struggle to reclaim the commons, create public spheres through the cultivation of open spaces, and enable direct democracy through principles of federation and open source or Read/Write culture. In my spare time, I make websites for my superhero friends, help to organize an emerging Oakland hackerspace (Sudo Room), and serve as a FOSS evangelist and connector of aligned humans, groups and projects. |

Eudea: A Wikitown
Eudea is a wikitown that aspires to help form an open source appropriate technology ecovillage: a technecovillage.
A testing ground for biomimetic design and fabrication, unified by pursuits of social and biological benefit, developing decentralization, automation and accessibility.
Sudo Room
Sudo Room is an open, non-hierarchical, collaborative community of humans, including tech developers, citizen scientists, activists, artists–and all combinations in between and beyond!–who are interested in and working towards social change. Our goal is to create the first inclusive, dedicated hackerspace in downtown Oakland, to share ideas and projects involving the creative use of technology, citizen science, digital citizenship and literacy, environmental sustainability, community engagement, self-government.
The Pyre
The Pyre project is a collaborative effort to build a comprehensive set of DIY tools and resources to create and maintain socially equitable, ecologically sustainable and economically robust human societies. We are engaging as many interested parties as possible to collaborate on the creation of an extensive compendium of blueprints for building sustainable communities. Our intent is to distribute these blueprints on a set of individually encrypted USB keys supporting the Live Linux Debian operating system that each user can customize to suit their individual needs and purposes. These keys would also provide the software platform for private and secure intra-community communication and organization, as well as inter-community peer-to-peer networking and collaboration.
