Of course the front door system has a battery which is maintained 
automatically and the door can function without AC power for many hours. 
I don't know how many hours because it's never come up.

and if AC power to the box fails for some reason and the rest of the 
building is still powered, we get notifications in IRC Chat so we know to 
check on the door system and restore charging before the battery starts 
going down.
