  I imagine you're referring to the esp8266 wifi chip (couple of digits
switched).

  I've done some work with the Adafruit.com breakout board that eases use
of it,
so it's possible I could advise.  I used Lua (reflashed to get the latest
version) and
a cloud-customized support library (a service someone put up for the
purpose).

  I'm based in Los Angeles, so I'm unlikely to routinely get to your
vicinity (I've
been mostly a lurker on this list, but have been doing some work with mesh
at
the City of L.A. on ubnt.com hardware reflashed with the ham AREDN.org
software.)
