I think it's a problem that people are misusing the space, and not really 
trying to find out what it's intended for, and not trying to cooperate.

But i think it's a much bigger problem that people are smoking inside the 
building, which leads me to worry about fires.  I think it's pretty 
miraculous that we haven't had a fire yet, considering how few smoke 
detectors we have and all the chaos that goes on when nobody's looking.

As for this particular situation, I think we need to ask Darin to take 
responsibility for his friends and step up to straighten them out.  If he 
says he can't control them, we should ask him to take the lead on figuring 
out how to keep them from creating problems at Omni since he brought them 
around.  Also since they might respect him more than others of us.

Robb I'm not worried about them calling you a racist, you have thick skin 
and you can handle it.  But I am disappointed that they don't have a 
better argument as to why they should be allowed to continue using the 
space.  Just because you're a racist doesn't make it OK for them to be 
smoking inside the omni.

Does anyone have the ability to contact Darin to get him involved with 
this discussion, on OR off-list?

P.S. I am not starting a thread about racism, but we should all accept 
that this society programs us from an early age to be racist, and we need 
to do our best to grow out of it, while accepting the fact that we 
almost certainly haven't yet.
