thanks Chesapeake,

this is not an easy thing to answer.  Basically I think we should sort whatever
we can (depending on our availability and the need for these parts) into their
appropriate parts bins on the south wall, put larger and more useful items on
tables around the space and hope they find homes, disassemble things for their
useful components, and then finally sort them into their appropriate waste
streams.

waste streams include e-waste (piled up next to the fridge), city recycling
(pure plastic, glass, paper, cardboard, and styrofoam), compost (food and
greasy or foody or weathered paper and cardboard) and finally trash.

a separate waste stream is fluorescent lightbulbs, which contain mercury and
can be recycled at home depot (near the returns counter, check the bins for
cool electronics to take)

i'll try to take a look in the bins when i come in next tuesday, thanks!
