[sudo-discuss] Sudo party?

Jitsi's pretty easy and seems to work well. Basically, just point a
browser at /https://meet.jit.si///*sudoroom*/ or any other random room
name. Chromium/Google-Chrome is reputed
<https://community.jitsi.org/t/jitsi-meet-google-chrome-vs-firefox/17093/12>
to work better than Firefox, but I've used both. And if you don't have
sufficient bandwidth or a webcam/mic you can just call in to a room
number to get the audio, even with a dumb fon. If you have a smarty
phone you should probably consider downloading the jitsi app
<https://jitsi.org/downloads/> from Google Play, F-Droid or the cApple
App Store.

We've been using jitsi for the Oscar Grant Committee for the last couple
of months. And bizarrely I'm actually one of the younger, more
teck-savvy OGC types and was able to coach all of the others what to do.
For the most part there were no problems, but one person had to phone in
because I couldn't coach her through installing the app (or any app) on
her iPhone and another had to call in because he couldn't figure out how
to connect his iPhone to his wireless router.  I'm not quite sure folks
are dropping a thou on a fancy phone when they are so technologically
challenged that they might as well have a flip-phone.

I don't think we necessarily need to use Robb's Jitsi server (unless we
want to encrypt our conversation?), but this is where it is:

meet.liberatedlens.org <http://meet.liberatedlens.org>

But I'm not sure it's ready to use, when I tried to access it I got:

  Your connection is not private

Attackers might be trying to steal your information
from*meet.liberatedlens.org*(for example, passwords, messages, or credit
cards).Learn more <chrome-error://chromewebdata/#>

NET::ERR_CERT_AUTHORITY_INVALID

meet.liberatedlens.org normally uses encryption to protect your
information. When Chromium tried to connect to meet.liberatedlens.org
this time, the website sent back unusual and incorrect credentials. This
may happen when an attacker is trying to pretend to be
meet.liberatedlens.org, or a Wi-Fi sign-in screen has interrupted the
connection. Your information is still secure because Chromium stopped
the connection before any data was exchanged.

You cannot visit meet.liberatedlens.org right now because the website
uses HSTS. Network errors and attacks are usually temporary, so this
page will probably work later.

BTW, Robb posted a jitsi tutorial here:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2L1NxHeN5YI

I may join late or not at all because I'm generally woking my mutt at
7PM with my first wife (who now lives in the attic because she is
working in rest homes and I'm old, immuno-compromised, and think that
everyone is out to get me).

You can use a PGP key to encrypt and secure our messages. To start using it, you'll need to install an OpenPGP software on your computer. Below you'll find a list of possible solutions for your operating system:

Windoze: Kleopatra (http://gpg4win.de/download.html)
OSX: GPG Keychain (https://gpgtools.org/#gpgsuite)
Linux: GnuPG (https://www.gnupg.org/related_software/frontends.html)
Android: OpenKeychain (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.sufficientlysecure.keychain)
i(diot)OS: iPGMail (https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/ipgmail/id430780873?mt=8)

Once you set up PGP on your computer please import my public key into your local OpenPGP Key-Manager. The valid PGP keys for my biow at cubasoldarity.net & biow at riseup.net accounts can be downloaded
here: http://ebiow.yasashi.net/pgp/

An "easy" way to set up PGP on your computer is to download the free & open sources Thunderbird email client (available on Linux, Windohs & O$X) & install the EnigMail Add-On.

Looking forward to exchange snooping-free messages with you & making the NSA spend mondo bucks to discover the secret of my bube's kartofel kugel recipe.
