The Berkeley Student Cooperative is 501(c)(3) nonprofit with a $10 million
operating budget. We provide affordable housing to university students, and
we are cooperatively operated in that each student contributes to our
management, governance, and operations with "workshifts," in addition to
rent payment. *Our mission is to provide a quality, low-cost, cooperative
housing community to university students, thereby providing an educational
opportunity for students who might not otherwise be able to afford a
university education*. See www.bsc.coop.

95% of our budget is covered by student rent payments. We also devote
resources to alumni development and major donors.

Now we want to explore the world of corporate and charitable foundation
grants. We would like to find a grant writing professional who can help us
with the following, ideally starting in Summer 2014:

   - Identify foundation prospects. Requires in-depth knowledge of relevant
foundations and ability to assess our budgetary needs in order to make
the
   optimal matches.
   - Manage application process. Requires project management skills. I am
able to devote many hours of time to do the bulk of the work, but I am
looking for someone who can direct the process.

Thank you for helping us circulate this request!

Kind regards,
Madeleine
