I think the idea is that there are a lot of people subscribed to the "mesh" list, and a significant number of them aren't in the east bay, or aren't actively participating in the project. If someone wants to ask whether or not there's a node mounting this sunday, and where it is, it might make more sense to ask that to the direct set of folks who are actively working on the project. That way we can keep the "mesh" list relatively low-traffic and interesting/worth subscribing to if you're not directly working on the project, but still have an avenue to communicate and archive those communications.
