FYI, the tarp that was installed on Tuesday evening is doing a great job at keep Sudo Room dry. More or less all the water is making it to the drain as intended. Only a few drops have hit the floor during the last day.

Of course the right solution is to fix the roof from outside, but until then i
think we need to hang tarps to funnel all the leaks into a single stream,
which can then be directed into the drain.

that's right, there's a drain behind the robot.  I recently put a metal grate
over it to prevent rats using it as a superhighway, but it should still be
fine to direct water away.
