Our team of 5 is seeking a Mechanical Engineer with experience using CAD/CAM software (ours is Fusion & ShopBot) to join at our HQ in Oakland.
You’ll be joining a cross-disciplinary tq/bipoc team that is building a protocol for dense community-owned distribution networks to emerge between Artists and Listeners. Your role will be to produce and iterate a physical prototype that interacts with our digital product.
We are in stealth, but previously launched the largest decentralized digital music event in history and are actively working with music communities in more than 100 countries.
At Currents, you'll be responsible for launching the first protocol for decentralized distribution networks, starting in the music industry.
This will involve designing scalable, reliable web2+3 systems that serve our worldwide grassroots communities.
Here's a 10ft x 5ft cnc machine I built. It is a V1 Engineering design that I modded with some custom 3d printed parts in order to switch to a more powerful spindle/router.Would suggest you post the same question to the V1 forums:On Tue, Jan 16, 2024 at 1:14 AM Jake Watters via sudo-discuss <sudo-discuss@sudoroom.org> wrote:_______________________________________________From guerilla:anyone here have CAD/CAM & cnc experience?i work with a tq/bipoc team of artists building the first platform for community-owned distribution networks to sustainably support music Artists.right now we're producing a tool for sharing music that involves cnc metalwork. we're looking for someone experienced who's looking for short-term work and is down to hop on the project for a couple weeks! we will offer a contract to compensate you :-)Please contact guerrilla@currents.fm
