Yay! We didn't connect yesterday, but I'm glad you joined as a Community Owner and came to the event!

Thanks for the info Valerie, and hi Philemon!

Sudoers, I RSVPd to both the orientation tomorrow noon and the event in the evening, if anyone else would like to join, and I'll just pop over to sudoroom after the ebprec one.

Both work out better for me actually anyway bc I work for the time that the Wednesday evening one would have been happening anyway.

Hi everyone!

For those that don’t know me, I am the outgoing Omni Stewardship and Property Manager employed through EBPREC. I’m happy to see all the enthusiasm in connecting with our organizations upcoming events.

I also wanted to chime in to clarify that the investor-owner mixer on Wednesday is *invitation-only* because it is for that particular stakeholder group in the co-op.

The event Ajay mentioned, taking place tomorrow evening in the Discoroom is part of the regularly scheduled Community Owners gatherings for that specific subset of the coop. An educational portion of that meeting will be recorded and made available to the general public between 6:30 to 730 pm and 7:30 p.m. via a *virtual-only* option. However, you still need to RSVP (https://www.eventbrite.com/e/eb-prec-mini-workshop-resident-ownership-103-tickets-1988212887267) as soon as possible so that the event organizers can send you the link and the hosting circle can better prepare the content and activities based on the expected number of participants.

If you are generally interested in learning more about EB PREC’s model, or building/strengthening a relationship with EB PREC by joining the co-op, I would strongly encourage you to take the first step by attending EBPREC’s Orientation. This is a one hour meeting that is scheduled on a regular basis either monthly or bimonthly. The next one is virtual TOMORROW Tuesday, May 19th at noon. This is where you receive an overview of the organization and have time to engage in a Q&A with the EB PREC staff member facilitating that month. If you are interested RSVP here: https://EBPRECVirtualOrientation.eventbrite.com. Even if you can't make it due to the short notice at least a connection was formed, allowing for follow-up.

Lastly, as I prepare to transition from my role, I am leaving the position in very capable hands. My successor Philemon Abraham, whom I cc'd on this thread will be Sudoroom's direct point of contact for both EBPREC and CALLI. As we move out of a stabilization period in the building, I am hopeful he will be able to be more responsive to the building community in the coming weeks and create additional intentional opportunities for connection with you all.

Happy to hear your thoughts and answer any additional inquiries or curiosities my message may have prompted.

Take care,

I agree with everything everyone said, except i'd encourage sudo room members to instead attend the meeting tomorrow night! I know its a long commute from Sudo room, but.. ;^). (I unfortunately have a conflict)

"EB PREC Community Owners - FINAL LOCATION @ Omni Commons!

RSVP today to join our first hybrid CO-Public Workshop!

Theme: Sharpening Our Cooperative Tools: Membership Upskilling Series

Date: May 19, 2026
Time: 6 - 8 pm
(New) Place: Omni Commons, 4799 Shattuck Ave. Oakland, CA 94609

Topic: Creating A Cooperative Proposal

How do EB PREC Cooperators make decisions to advance projects that require resources from the Cooperative? Making a proposal! But what does that look like, who does it involve, and how do I get started?

Join us for an interactive activity on making a proposal to the Cooperative to provide resources to an Owner Project, like financing a Resident Workday or launching an acquisition campaign. Whether you're familiar with proposal processes or if this is your first time engaging, we hope you'll take away a new way to engage cooperatively."

Hi Sudoers:

Can Sudoers please attend this event Wednesday night 1) to establish and fortify relationships with EB PREC/CALLI and 2) to emphasize the strong alignment between EB PREC’s racial equity and economic equity missions and Sudoroom's technology and digital literacy, technology and digital equity, technology and digital inclusion, and technology and digital sovereignty missions? (Most evident through our weekly Fixit Clinic and WNB initiatives and expanding outward from there?)

(For example: EB PREC manages lots of properties, both commercial and residential. We can offer to help keep EB PREC’s current and future technology-based building infrastructure in good working order, and offer that any EB PREC member and/or tenant is welcome at Sudoroom anytime.)

It is critical to Sudoroom’s long term interests to make sure that we are well aligned with our buildings owners and management. We need to build trust and reputation. That starts with forging relationships, which is best done IMO by being in community with others at events like these.

Sincerely, -Peter

(Unfortunately I have a scheduling conflict and cannot attend this, I’m running a Fixit Clinic at Northeastern U/ Mills College: https://makerspaces.northeastern.edu/events/repair-advice-clinic-4/ -p)
