I admit I have been wavering about the mask policy as well, and in retrospect we could probably have done without in April. But with the recent upswing in cases, now is definitely not the time to do away with it altogether.

I think the delegates meeting from last July was when we first agreed on a mask policy, within the framework of reopening the building for collectives:
https://omnicommons.org/wiki/Event:2021/06/17_Delegates#reopening

And here's where we agreed on mask requirement for events:
https://omnicommons.org/wiki/Event:2021/07/15_Delegates#PROPOSAL:_Opening_for_Events

Last time I tried to bring up changing the mask policy there was little desire to have a discussion, and folks wanted me to just draft a new policy. So far I've had too little time and too much caution to do that though.

I do think it helps not to change our policy with the slightest change in the wind though. Yes, it probably would have been safe to lift our mask policy back in March. But then I'd probably be arguing to put it back in place this week anyway...

Omni still requires masks for everyone. I've been wavering on this.
Masks made the work party hard - trying to climb ladders and do heavy
lifting with a restricted oxygen supply really sucks.

I think maybe we could say masks are required when there's more than
10 people in the room or something. Someone would have to make a
proposal.
